19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his first title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden championship since the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

His counter-punching play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, backed up by an better serve.
He fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five points to take the lead.
The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his initial tour championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
He rescued four initial chances in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the net, with Moutet incapable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
